Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how DeleteIt collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website or the DeleteIt macOS app.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Luis Hernández, sole proprietor, based in Santiago, Chile, operating DeleteIt as an independent product. Purchases are handled by Paddle.com Market Ltd as Merchant of Record and reseller, which acts as an independent controller for payment and tax data. For questions about this policy, email us at hello@deleteit.app.

2. Information we collect

Local scan data

DeleteIt analyzes your disk entirely on your Mac. File names, paths, and sizes stay on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.

Account and license information

When you register or purchase a license, we collect your email address and optional name to create your account, link your license, and send one-time sign-in codes.

Payment information

Payments are processed by Paddle. We do not store your card details. Paddle shares the transaction reference, email, and license event so we can deliver your purchase.

Support and diagnostics

If you contact support, we keep the information you choose to provide, including optional attachments and diagnostic files, to investigate and respond to your request.

Usage data

We log cleanup usage (for example, bytes cleaned) to enforce quotas, prevent abuse, and improve the product. This data is tied to your license or account.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to provide the app and website, process payments, deliver and verify licenses, send sign-in codes, respond to support requests, enforce quotas, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Where data is stored

Your account, license, and usage data are stored in secure cloud infrastructure. We use encryption in transit and at rest where available.

5. Who we share data with

We share payment and billing data with Paddle. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to verify you are human. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

6. Security

Sign-in is protected by short-lived one-time codes. License tokens and support attachments are handled by server-side functions with access controls. No system is completely secure, but we follow industry practices.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise these rights, email hello@deleteit.app.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of DeleteIt after the changes means you accept the revised policy.

9. Contact us

For privacy questions or data requests, email hello@deleteit.app.
